TAIWANESE container shipping line, Wan Hai Lines, is to launch a new China-India Service VI (CI6 service) on January 24 in a move to expand its network by providing direct service from East China to West India.
CI6 will be jointly operated with Cosco Shipping Line Co by using five 4,200 TEU vessels. Wan Hai Lines will deploy one vessel while Cosco will provide the other four containerships.
CI6's maiden voyage will commence from Shanghai port on January 24 and the port rotation will be: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Nansha, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Penang and returning to Shanghai
"Wan Hai Lines is confident that the new service will provide customers with better frequency and service coverage between China/South East Asia and India," the shipping line said in a statement.
