The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has issued formal responses to several pressing international trade issues. Beijing called on Washington to correct its misguided approach and engage in dialogue to address concerns.
On the issue of U.S. port fees applied to Chinese vessels, China will impose special port service charges on related U.S. ships as a countermeasure. The ministry described the step as a necessary and defensive action aimed at protecting the legitimate interests of Chinese industries and businesses, while promoting a fair competitive environment in international shipping.
China reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing communication and cooperation with all countries to jointly safeguard the security and stability of global industrial and supply chains.
